Notes
The damage data given in this study are derived from the same municipality data as the Braga et al study, but using different definitions of both the building classes and damage levels. Also the process used to determine the total number of buildings in the comune at the time of the event differs between the two studies. The process used for this study is described in the attached Colombi et al paper. Since the damage surveys were not undertaken for 100% of the buildings within a municipality, and were more likely to focus on damaged buildings, the number of undamaged buildings in the tables are likely to be underestimated.
